About Blacklist Lookup

Blacklist Checker checks whether a specific mail server is listed in one or more of the well-known and widely used DNSBL (DNS-based Blacklist) and RBL (Real-time Blackhole List) blacklists. Mail server administrators generally use tools such as the Blacklist Checker when it is possible that their servers are blacklisted. When a blacklisted mail server attempts to send an e-mail to a spam-protected mail server using a blacklist-based solution, the target mail server refuses to accept the message or even blocks the initial network connection from the blacklisted address. For the blacklisted mail server, it is therefore impossible to send the e-mail to the target mail server. One of the techniques used by spammers is to hack into computers on the Internet and use them as their own mail servers to send tons of spam messages.

Every imperfectly protected machine on the network is a potential source of spam. Various IP blacklists attempt to combat spammers by blacklisting all computers suspected of being misused by spammers. Even if a legitimate owner discovers the problem on his machine, fixes the security hole and cuts the spammer, the blacklists will remain to identify the IP address of the affected server as a potentially dangerous source. In such a case, the server administrator is required to request deletion, which can sometimes be difficult and time-consuming. Using the Blacklist Checker can save you a lot of time and trouble. With a single click, you will get information from over 150 blacklists on or off your server's blacklist.
